Sean Dutton

Sean Dutton is an attorney in the firm’s employment and commercial litigation practices. He brings extensive litigation and appellate experience, in state and federal courts across the country, to meet our clients’ diverse needs. Mr. Dutton is admitted to practice in Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin, as well as numerous federal courts across the country. In particular, he has extensive experience in the U.S. Supreme Court, litigating significant issues of constitutional law and statutory/regulatory regimes on behalf of corporate and government clients.
Mr. Dutton holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. He graduated magna cum laude from DePaul University College of Law, where he was selected to join the Order of the Coif and served as Managing Editor of the DePaul Law Review. After law school, Mr. Dutton served as a law clerk to Judge Richard A. Griffin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, as well as Chief Justice Robert P. Young Jr. and Justice Kurtis T. Wilder of the Michigan Supreme Court. Before joining KHVPF, Mr. Dutton worked as a senior associate in the Chicago and Detroit offices of Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders, in their Business Litigation and Appellate + Supreme Court practice groups.
