Overview

Joe Van Dusen is an attorney in the firm’s employment and commercial litigation practices. He has extensive trial experience, having served as first chair in numerous felony jury trials as a criminal prosecutor. Separately, he has defended the United States in civil litigation stemming from government contracts before federal courts and administrative boards. He is admitted to practice in Michigan and before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Joe graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and Moot Court. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy, where he graduated with honors. Prior to joining KHVPF, Joe served in the U.S. Army, first as an active-duty Armor officer. Later, the Army selected Joe to attend law school as part of the Army’s Funded Legal Education Program. After law school, he served as an active-duty Army judge advocate (JAG). He has completed three combat tours in Afghanistan. He continues to serve as a JAG in the U.S. Army Reserve.
