KHVPF Gives Back!
On April 26, 2024, KHVPF participated in the MCHS Family of Services’ Big Giveback Event. Eric Pelton is MCHS Board President.
This event was part of MCHS’s annual Spring Day of Service where volunteers are asked to roll up their sleeves in support of the organization’s wide range of services. The Firm assisted with interior painting at MCHS’s Redford campus, beautifying one of the MCHS campuses that clients and residents call home. MCHS provides individualized treatment, care, advocacy, and permanency to children and families impacted by childhood trauma. Programs include foster care, adoption, and residential treatment.
MCHS has recently expanded to provide child abuse prevention services, parenting classes, housing and programs for teen mothers and their children, independent living and education and vocational support for those aging out of the child welfare system, and crisis mental health and housing for homeless teens.
MCHS also has a trauma informed K-8 charter school and runs a camp for children with special needs and for family respite weekends.
